Ipsywitch (Real name Eleanor May Carter, born August 2nd) is a powerful Metahuman of Deep One descent and one of the founding members of the Teen Titans. She is the eldest daughter of Project Cadmus genetic researcher; Lorraine Gentry, and Dagon worshipper Elliot Preston Carter. Eldest step-daughter of autobody mechanic Stephen Henderson. She is the eldest sister of artistic and loyal Nymphadora, and is one of the main characters of XxIpsywitchxX's upcoming fanfiction; Song of the Sea: A Teen Titans Story.
History
Before the Titans
Originally born in Gotham City, Ipsywitch's life was anything but ordinary. Before she turned fifteen years old Ipsywitch was born Eleanor May Carter, daughter of strong but caring genetic researcher and Deep One Lorraine Gentry and abusive alcoholic eldritch worshipper Elliot Carter, alongside her younger sister, Samantha Henderson. When Ipsywitch turned 10 years old, Lorraine Gentry divorced Elliot and left Gotham City to another city named Jump City, where Lorraine met a gentle giant mechanic named Stephen Henderson and Stephen became Ipsywitch and Samantha's step-father.
Throughout her childhood, Ipsywitch was bullied by the other children in her schools, because she was different, due to inheriting her mother's Deep One genes, as well as was more intelligent than the other children. Ipsywitch just endure it and wished every night to have a friend that accepts her for being who she is.
Founding the Teen Titans
During one of her nighttime strolls through the city, Ipsywitch caught a glimpse of what she thought was a green shooting star, flying across the sky and on a collision coarse close-by, curious of the shooting star, she decided to investigate. What she found was a girl from another planet emerge from a crater.
Then one-by-one, Ipsywitch and girl met Robin, a young shape-sifter, a cybernetic athlete and a troubled Azarathian, during a fight against the alien girl. Ipsywitch stopped the fight and snapped some sense into the group.
Physical Appearance
In her true form, Ipsywitch shares a strong resemblance to Gill Girl from the Teen Titans Go comics. The few similarities are that Ipsywitch's green fur(?) is a deeper shade of green. Her irises are green, along with glowing white pupils and black sclera. And she bares a birthmark of an Eldritch symbol on her left hip.
She wears a wears a black, hooded, armored, shorty wetsuit that exposes her arms and legs, with dark green accents, supportive black elbow-pads and knee-pads.
Before obtaining her hero attire, Ipsywitch wore a black t-shirt under a light green sweater, under a pair of dark green overalls the are rolled up just above her knees and black sandals.
Powers, Abilities and Skills
- Fish People Physiology: As a Deep One, Ipsywitch has demonstrated the qualities and abilities of a humanoid fish-like creature. The abilities documented are as follows:
- Underwater breathing: Ipsywitch developed gills at a very young age, which allow her to survive underwater without the need to come up for air or risk of drowning.
- Temperature resilience: Resistant to low temperatures and the effects of freezing, although notably hindered by high temperatures.
- Durability: Dense flesh, although not invulnerable.
- Strength: Ranging from undetected levels to super strength.
- Toxin resistance: Ipsywitch has a partial immunity to poisons of sea creatures, such as jellyfish toxin, due to her Deep One heritage. However too much toxin will cause her to hallucinate and freeze on the spot.
- Psychokinesis: Due to being Metahuman with Deep One genes, Ipsywitch's inherited meta-gene grants her powerful psychokinetic abilities; The ability to influence the environment with the power of one's mind limited only to her imagination and intellect. - Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Ipsywitch is extremely skilled in combat. Almost rivaled to Batman or Nightwing.
- Empathy: The psionic ability to sense the emotions of others, allowing Ipsywitch to gain insight into their thoughts and intentions, and even experience their own feelings. This also enables her to sense the mental state of others, as she has stated that she would know if someone's mind had been tampered with. Ipsywitch can absorb the pain of others into her own body in order to induce rapid healing for them, and can heal herself by going into a trance of emotional calm. By using her empathy to guide her, she can track others.
- Multilingualism: Like her maternal grandfather, Ipsywitch has shown to have a talent with languages. Natively, Ipsywitch can speak the eldritch language; R'leyhian and English respectively. She is almost fluent in French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Swahili and Russian. She can also understand Korean, Mandarin and Zulu
- Eldritch Magic: Like Doctor Fate, Zatara and Zatanna, Ipsywitch has shown to have a powerful affinity with the mystic arts. However her magical prowess are eldritch by nature and seen as an abomination by many sorcerers, but Ipsywitch has been able to use this power for good instead of her own gain.
- Master Detective: Ipsywitch has a genius-level intellect and can solve riddles and puzzling crimes committed by the most skilled and intelligent criminals and psychopaths, like Joker or Riddler. Due to her intellect and detective skills, she was able to easily solve that Robin/Nightwing was Dick Grayson and Batman was Bruce Wayne with a simple glance.
- Sensory Scrying: As an extension of her empathic abilities, Ipsywitch can see through the eyes of other beings and feel their feelings, as if they're her own.
Weakness
- Headaches: Due to her empathy being one of her most powerful abilities, Ipsywitch can get overwhelmed by sensing too many people or when someone's emotions are too strong. One or the other will give her very painful headaches, which enables Ipsywitch from using any other of her abilities.
- Crowds and Camera Shy: Ipsywitch is a very shy person, so she feels very uncomfortable around cameras and large crowds of people.
- Astraphobia/Brontophobia: Astraphobia/Brontophobia is understandably the fear of thunder and lightning. Due to he sensitive nature, Ipsywitch is dreadfully afraid of storms and will freeze on the spot, or try and find cover, completely unable to fight back.
- Extreme Heat/Fire: Being aquatic in nature, Ipsywitch is susceptible to forms of extreme heat and dry conditions. But, due to her Metahuman heritage, she can withstand these conditions a little longer than most aquatic creatures.
